Delaware Edges Louisiana Tech 25–24 in Wild Finish

NEWARK, Del. — In a thrilling Conference USA battle at Delaware Stadium on Nov. 8, 2025, the Delaware Blue Hens pulled off a dramatic 25–24 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs thanks to a late special teams heroics that stunned the home crowd.
Delaware (5–4, 3–3 CUSA) trailed for much of the second half but rallied in the final minutes of the game. After falling behind 24–16 in the fourth quarter, the Blue Hens scored a touchdown with just 34 seconds remaining to close within two points. A failed two-point conversion left the score at 24–22.
The game’s turning point came on a perfectly executed onside kick by Delaware’s Nate Reed, which was recovered at the Louisiana Tech 35-yard line, giving the Blue Hens one last chance. Reed then delivered the game-winning play by drilling a 51-yard field goal with 12 seconds left, sealing the comeback and the 25–24 win.
Quarterback Nick Minicucci led Delaware’s aerial attack, completing 26 of 52 passes for 304 yards and two scores, while Sean Wilson hauled in five receptions for 107 yards. On the Louisiana Tech side, running back Clay Thevenin was a key offensive contributor, finishing with over 100 all-purpose yards and two rushing touchdowns, including a long 37-yard score early in the game.
Defensively, Louisiana Tech forced turnovers and appeared to have sealed the game late, including an interception returned for a touchdown by Jacob Fields. However, Delaware’s late surge and clutch kicking proved decisive in one of the most dramatic finishes of the season.
